À propos // About
The Cercle Français was established in 2007 by Lara Kratochwill, ‘08 and Jeff Reisman, ’08 to create enthusiasm for and an understanding of francophone culture and civilization. We are also dedicated to service to the French Department. This club is open to all French students at Baker and meets once a month. To become a member, consistent attendance at the meetings is required. Your work schedule should be designed accordingly, as should other appointments, and except for away games, students may arrive late to practice once a month. Participation in the activities offered by the club is encouraged.
Each month our program will vary: please view our calendar of events to see all of our exciting activities! We are also dedicated to fundraising for Paige’s Butterfly Run and other charitable causes. We have planned field trips locally, within New York State, and to France and Quebec. Each meeting will begin with a 5 minute “café” – informal conversation in French, followed by a brief business meeting and the program.
This year’s officers include: Erin Lawlor as president, Candace Benjamin as secretary, Joanna Kenney as publicist and peer-mentoring captain, Frankie Libbon as webmaster, and Mike Cariglio and Tom Honsinger as members-at-large. This Executive Council is an integral part of the club, organizing the monthly meetings and activities.
